Portable fire extinguishers, are devices used to extinguish small fires. They are not for used for large fires. To ensure your fire extinguishers are compliant to Irish standard I.S 291 2015 our qualified engineer must first assess your business. 

 

This assessment is to ensure the correct types of fire extinguishers are available for the different parts of the premises, and for them to be placed in correct locations throughout the business. 

  

Fire extinguishers require regular maintenance to ensure they remain operational when needed. Unfortunately fire extinguishers can be tampered with, lose pressure or at worse can explode if corroded, damaged or the wrong standard of fire extinguisher. Fire extinguishers that do not meet today's Irish Standard I.S 291 have been known to cause serious injury and even death.

A pre 2015 standard fire extinguisher caused death to a person in dublin as it exploded from being subjected to heat. Thankfully the new I.S 291 standard 2015 was implemented to ensure this would never happen again.
